Elementary Mathematics & Science
 

The mathematics and Science program provides opportunities for all students to explore and investigate concepts and relationships through a broad range of mathematical experiences.  The long range goals for students are that they:

bulletDevelop positive and enthusiastic attitudes towards mathematics and science and their relationships.
bulletLearn to reason mathematically in their lives.
bulletUse mathematics and science as a form of communication.
bulletBecome confident of their mathematical and scientific abilities.
bulletBecome mathematical and scientific problem solvers.
bulletLearn to value mathematics and science as a useful, creative tool.
bulletBecome critical thinkers.

The objectives of the Alachua County Schools reflect the current  objectives in support of the Florida Sunshine State Standards and the National Standards for Mathematics and Science Instruction.
