Alachua County Public Schools to remain open on
Thursday, August 21
Based on information provided by Alachua County
Emergency Management and the National Weather
Service regarding the expected local impact of
Tropical Storm Fay, Alachua County Public Schools
are expected to remain open on Thursday, August 21.
The district will continue to monitor the path of
the storm and work with Emergency Management to
determine whether or not schools will be open on
Friday, August 22.
If it should become necessary at any point for
schools to be closed, families will be notified
through the district's website (www.sbac.edu),
the local media and the district's automated phone
messaging system.
