CustomGuide is:  Onine Technology Training from that can be taken from work, home or anywhere you can be online. CREATE** points are available for all courses. (You must sign up for this class in My Learning Plan)

All ACPS teachers and staff have free access to these lessons. (Login and Password required; see Getting Started' instructions below)

There are levels available for all learners, beginning to advanced. Additional CustomGuide training manuals are available for download at our BytheBook page.

**Getting Started into CustomGuide: The trainers at AIT will guide you through your online training! Just click here to sign up for your CustomGuide course.

An instructor will contact you within 24 hours with your logon and password and will walk you through your first login to help you become familiar with your new, online environment. We will be with you every step of the way. Sign up for your class today! (If you have any trouble logging into the My Learning Plan site, please contact your CREATE contact.)

CREATE Points for CustomGuide Training

Online courses are structured in units by titles, chapters, and lessons. You may receive points for completion of titles or chapters.

Completion Requirements

  • Title completion*-- (only one title version per software application per year, i.e., Access 2000, XP, 2003)
    • complete desired chapters in a title
    • complete assessments for each chapter completed
    • complete follow-up activities**
    • submit classroom/curriculum integration survey for chosen software title
    • submit lesson plans based on this title for additional points (limit of 5 plans per title)
  • Chapter completion--
    • complete every lesson in a chapter***
    • complete assessments included in chapter
    • complete follow-up activity**
    • submit classroom/curriculum integration survey for chapter
    • submit lesson plans based on this chapter for additional points

Points awarded are as follows:

  • title completion: maximum of 30 points
  • chapter completion (partial title): maximum of 3 points per chapter
  • follow-up activity: required for points award**
  • survey completion: optional but appreciated
  • lesson plan submission: 1 point per plan

*A Title denotes an entire course such as Access XP. If you do not require an entire course, you may use the Chapter completion option.

**Follow-up activities may be obtained by contacting our office via e-mail. Include your name, school/center, chapter(s) completed and your activities will be sent to you.

***Some titles have repeating chapters over a suite of software. An example would be the Drawing and Graphics chapter(s) which is included in Excel, Publisher, Word, PowerPoint. Chapters such as these are eligible for point submission only once.
