Junior City Commission
Archer Community School is proud to be the ONLY active 5th Grade city commission in the entire USA! Students learn about  democratic elections as they journey through the process of applying for candidacy, submitting campaign budget reports, preparing speeches, and culminating in voting at the polls. Students that are elected into office are sworn in at an official ceremony and meet during school hours to discuss issues related to the improvement of the school and its community. Junior City Commissioners attend three Junior Commission meetings at Archer City Hall.

Weekly Book Club
Students have the opportunity to join one of Archer's book clubs. These literature circles meet weekly at lunchtime to enjoy discussions with fellow reading enthusiasts about the current selection.

Word Masters National Challenge
Archer is one of an elite few elementary schools in Alachua County to participate in the Word Masters National Challenge. This program encourages vocabulary growth and verbal reasoning through the study of analogies. In the first year of participation, Archer students scored well above the national average in the Challenge.
