The bank is administered by the Alachua County School Board composed of teachers, administrators, and career service personnel.  Enrollment is voluntary. Employees having a current accrual of sick (6) sick leave days or more, who are currently employed by the School Board one-half (1/2) time or greater and have worked for the School Board at least one (1) year are eligible to join the bank. Enrollment is accomplished by contributing one (1) day of sick leave to the bank after one year of employment or during Open Enrollment.

Withdrawal of days from the Sick Leave Bank is accomplished by completing an application to the Sick Leave Bank Committee, including supporting documentation from a personal physician stating nature of illness or injury and prognosis.
