Howard Bishop Middle School is located in Gainesville, Florida. It is an "A" school under the Florida state criteria for excellence. Howard Bishop combines traditional and progressive approaches to education and exhibits strengths in academics, music and technology. Bishop has a strong major program which focuses on steady increase of reading, writing, math, science and social studies skills to prepare students for high school and to be life long learners in our complex society. Bishop also houses a magnet program, Academy of Technology and Gifted Studies. Academy students are focused on accelerated learning and develop a high level of technology expertise.
