Hey I'm going to talk about Biddy Owens (Biddy Owens is a completely fictional character) the equipment manager and some times right field for the Birmingham Black Barons of the Negro leagues. The Negro leagues are a sort of minor and major league mix for black people. He plays one year as the bat boy before going off to college in Talladega, Alabama. In these times are the starting of integration. This is a hard time for Biddy and he doesn't have a lot of options. On the Barons Biddy is with Willie Mayes and Bill Greason and he wanted to quit the team not knowing they would be future stars. The book is mostly waiting for aprovel and disaproval of the teams captain and 2nd base Pipper. he gets mad after every lose with the hate of losing. Biddy's Family are supporting him every step of the way except for his sister (her and Biddy share the typical sybling bond). When the point gets down to it the book is really a journal of Biddy Owens.
