This is a digital reveiw of the story The journal of Biddy Owens. It is about the fictional character named Biddy Owens. He is the equipment mamager (and sometimes a player) of the team called the Birmingham Black Barons (wich was a real team) back in 1948, which is when the story takes place. It tells about him traveling around the country playing baseball with actual players that were on the team. All the players on the team were black because, at the time, there was a seprate leage for black player, because it was after the civil war, but before the civil rights movement, so black peaple were, to quote someone back from that time, "sperate but equal.". It was writen by Walter Dean Myers as a book in the "my name is america" series. here is a picture of him
