Hey! There are many different styles of house people like to ride horses. There are three mayjor types of riding. English, Western, and Bareback.

English riding is used with an English saddle. It is more proper and it orgininated in England. Also, English riding also focuses on jumping. There are different styles of English riding like Hunter jumper which is more of jumping. Dressage is another kind of rising too. English riders where special clothing when they ride in competitions or take lessons but you do are only required to in competitions.

Western riding is used with a Western saddle. It originated in the South for herding animals. Western riders don't do as much jumping if at all. There isn't a special way to dress when you ride Western excpt for long pants.

Bareback riding doesn't have a saddle. They may not even use a bridal, they will just use a halter and lead rope. Bareback riding takes a lot of balance because you don't have a saddle or sturrups for your feet. There are bareback saddles, but they are not like regular saddles it just makes bareback riding more comfortable.
