RON BROOKS
Coach Brooks is a graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelors degree in Criminology.  His baseball experience began at Leon High School in Tallahassee where he was an All-Big Bend selection as well as an All-State selection.  Brooks was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 35th round in 1995 out of high school and received an athletic scholarship to Tallahassee Community College where he played until 1998.  Coach Brooks went on to receive a scholarship from the University of Central Florida and was also drafted by the Tampa Devil Rays in 1998

This is Coach Brooks' 5th year as a head coach.  He has been with Santa Fe High School since the 2006 season.  In his first year, he led the Raiders to a 2nd place District finish as well as a 1st round playoff birth.  In his second year, the Raiders claimed the District Title.  Before coming to Santa Fe, he held the position of head coach at Tallahassee Rickards High School in 2005.

Coach Brooks currently teaches Exceptional Student Education at Santa Fe.  He is also certified in Physical Education.  He's been married to his wife, Erin, for nine years and has four daughters, Caitlin, Abby, Molly, and Peyton.

       

 

MATT HURLEY
Coach Hurley is a graduate of Wolfson High School and the University of Florida where he received his degree in Criminology and Sociology.  This is his fourth year working with the baseball program at Santa Fe as the pitching coach.  Coach Hurley is a teacher at Mebane Middle School and he and his wife, Julie, are expecting their first child this season.  Matt's brother, Eric is currently the number one prospect for the Texas Rangers and is a right-handed starting pitcher.

       

 

KELLY ARMSTRONG
Coach Kelly Armstrong is in his second year with the Santa Fe High School baseball program as the hitting coach and will work with the team's catchers.  Prior to coaching at SF, he was the Head Coach at Taylor County High School.  His past experience includes:  Assistant Coach at Martin County High School, JV Coach at Taylor County High School, Middle School Coach in Taylor County, and American Legion/AAU coach at Godby High School

Coach Armstrong was a catcher at Taylor County High School and continued his playing career at North Florida Community College.  He received his degree from Florida State University in Social Science Education.

Coach Armstrong is a Reading teacher at Fort Clarke Middle School in Gainesville and is married to Melissa, who is also a teacher.  They have two daughters, Maryanne and Hope.

       

CORY TOMLINSON
Coach Tomlinson is a graduate of Maryville College in Maryville, Tennessee with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.  He also has a Master’s degree from Lincoln Memorial University in Education Administration and Supervision.  Coach Tomlinson is a graduate of Santa Fe High School where he attended from 1993 to 1997.  During his years at Santa Fe, he started all 4 years on the varsity baseball team and earned all district honors in 1996 and 1997.  The Santa Fe baseball team made the post season playoffs all 4 years and made to the regional finals twice.  After he graduated from Santa Fe, Coach Tomlinson went on the play college baseball at Maryville College.  While at Maryville, he earned 1st Team All South in his sophomore season batting .400 and earning the MVP of the Emory Spring Classic in Atlanta, Ga.  Coach Tomlinson finished his baseball career at Maryville with a .370 batting average and starting 3 years for the Scots. 

This is Coach Tomlinson’s 4th year coaching baseball.  While living in Maryville, he coached the Maryville High School JV baseball team and summer team.  In his first year with Maryville, he led them to a 28-3 record and a second place finish in the regional JV tournament.  This is Coach Tomlinson’s second season with the Raiders.  In 2008 Coach Tomlinson helped finish out the regular season with the JV team.  He also coached the Summer B team and was hired to be the head JV baseball coach this year. 

 Coach Tomlinson currently is the Behavior Resource Teacher at Talbot Elementary.  He has been married to his wife, Kristina, for 6 years and has 1 daughter, Anna.
