Welcome to our school!
Lawton Chiles Elementary first opened its doors in 1999. The school was named for the late governor of Florida who cared deeply about the welfare and education of children. Chiles is located in southwest Gainesville. It is located about five miles from the University of Florida. Lawton Chiles is a part of the School Board of Alachua County. The staff is dedicated to ensuring that Lawton Chiles is "A School for Every Child." |

Cheetah News
For the holidays, we are once again participating in the annual Winter Break Food Basket Project. We will be collecting food in an effort to give needy families in our community a basket of food for the holidays. Cheetahs, in the spirit of giving and gratitude lend a hand to help others!
