Egg Drop Challengee

Egg Space presents the problem of landing a space shuttle and its sensitive cargo on the earth safely, after it has completed its mission. In order to simulate this problem we are asking you to build a container that can fit inside a milk crate, without sticking out the top. You can use any materials you have at home to construct your final "shuttle", however, your shuttle may not have a parachute. Your cargo, a raw egg, must be intact after the shuttle has been dropped from a ten-foot ladder. Your grade depends on the condition of your egg and your participation in the challenge.

Report Format

What you need to include in your Eggdrop Challenge Report

1. Title, Name, Date, Block 1 or 2

2. Real World Challenge: Give me an example of an event that is similar to dropping an egg from a ten-foot ladder.

3. Objective: What are you making, why, what does your creation have to do?

4. Materials: What did you use to make your creation?

5. Procedure: Step by step (like a recipe) tell me how you made your creation.

6. Results: See Science Challenge Sheet.

7. Conclusion: Did your creation meet the Objective? Why do you think it did or did not work? If it didn't work, what would you change if you made it again?
