Welcome to WLCE News

We broadcast the news live every weekday morning, on closed circuit television, from the Lawton Chiles Media Center. The news show is produced and staffed by a crew of 5th grade students.

Our News Crew

There is a News Crew for each semester made up of 5th grade students. During each semester the students rotate jobs weekly and learn every aspect of producing the news show.

Jobs

Director - is in charge producing the news.
2 Anchors - go in front of the cameras and present the news segments.
2 Videographers - are responsible for filming the live broadcast.
Weather Anchor - researches the weather in our area and presents it on the air.
Accelerated Reader Reporter -
Roving Reporter - film students on location for closing segment
Title Maker - creates the titles and credits for the show.
Video Mixer - switches between video images from the VCR and the 3 video cameras.
Audio Mixer - controls the audio levels of the broadcast.
Music Mixer - chooses and plays the music for the different segments
