Diploma Options
The School Board of Alachua County awards one of the following credentials upon successful completion of the requirements:A Standard Diploma requires completion of all course and credit requirements, a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale, and demonstrated mastery of State Department of Education approved Minimum Student Performance Standards measured by the Florida Comprehensive Achievement Test (FCAT).
A Certificate of Completion can be awarded upon completion of all courses, credits, and the 2.0 grade point average requirement without meeting the testing requirement.
A Special Diploma, available only to students classified under specific categories in Exceptional Student Education (ESE), requires completion of 24 credits, a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale, and taking of the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE).
A Special Certificate of Completion requires completion of all special diploma courses and credit requirements without meeting the testing requirement.
