SUBJECTS

Reading -- We are reading Evelyn Cisernos this week.  There will be a test on Friday on this story.  We also will be reading non-fiction passages to find main idea and details, along with worksheets on sequencing.  NEXT WEEK we will test on Theme 4.  There will be a study guide sent home to review the skills your child has learned.

Spelling --  There will be a spelling test this week, the words are as follows:  discuss, deduct, dismissed, develop, disease, discount, disturb, details, demand, determined, depressed, defense, disappointing, discouraged, disadvantage, demonstrated, defeat, descent, disappear, disconnect.

Math --   We are completing our chapter on adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators.  Testing for chapter 16 will be on Monday and Tuesday.  Our next chapter will be adding and subtracting mixed numbers.  The test will be on Friday for chapter 17.

Science -- My homeroom will go to Mr. Kear for Science.

Social Studies --  We are working on week 19 of the newspaper.  This week they will learn about southern slavery, Abraham Lincoln, and loyalty. REMEMBER if the questions are not answered in QUANSWER form - they will be marked wrong.  (Quanswer form is writing a complete sentence combining the question within the answer.)  I will test Week 18 on Friday.  They will be able to use the paper to answer the questions.  The paper will be due Friday.
