Logging onto Atlantic
Net
to Transfer Files
To upload a web page to the SBAC Atlantic Net
web server, you must have the following:
1.
An
SBAC web account and password.
2.
Some type of ftp
software to transfer the web pages from your computer to the server.
The server name is 209.208.98.50 for Atlantic
Net.
For the Location to Publish To, please enter
the Atlantic Net IP address listed above and use the account and password you
were assigned.
Using Internet Explorer to
Transfer Files to Atlantic Net
To upload using Internet Explorer (IE), type
ftp://useraccount@209.208.98.50 in the URL Location Bar and press Enter. For example, ftp://hydejl@209.208.98.50
should return the following log on screen:

Use the User Name and Password assigned to
you and click Log On. The next
screen should look as follows:

Follow the directions. Click on Page and then click Open FTP
Site in Windows Explorer.

Now a Windows Explorer window should appear.

Right click on the file you wish to copy to
Atlantic Net and click on Copy.

Move your cursor to the Atlantic Net
window. Right click and select
Paste. Click to paste the
selected page into your Atlantic Net folder.

Multiple files can be selected and pasted
just as with other transfers in Windows Explorer.
Using WS_FTP to Transfer Files to
Atlantic Net
Most school computers have WS_FTP on them. If
you wish to Use WS_FTP to publish web pages:
To upload web pages using WS_FTP, click on
the WS_FTP icon. The following window should appear. If it does not, click on
the Connect button at the bottom left of the WS_FTP window.

1.
The profile name
is of your choosing.
2.
The host
name/address is 209.208.98.50 (there is no alias).
3.
Host_Type is provided by the software. Do not change.
4.
User ID is the
account on the web server to which you wish to ftp.
5.
Password is the
password for the account on the web server receiving the pages.

1.
Highlight the
files in the left window that you wish to move to the web server.
2.
Click on the
--> button to move the pages from your PC to the web server.
3.
Close the WS_FTP
window.
You're done!
