Dear Parents:
On Friday, May 16th, the Kanapaha Middle School (KMS) seventh grade class will take a field trip to Epcot in Orlando, Florida. We will leave school by charter bus promptly at 8:00 AM, arriving at Epcot at 10:00 AM. At 6:00 PM, we will take the bus back to Kanapaha Middle School, arriving at school at 8:00 PM. Be sure your child has arrangements to be picked up at 8:00 PM, sharp. Failure to have a ride will result in your child losing field trip privileges next year.
The cost of the trip, which includes both bus transportation and park admission, is $60.00 per student. This does not include meals. All students are responsible for purchasing their own food while at Epcot. Any excess monies collected will be placed in the seventh grade team account to be used for sponsoring students and/or classroom needs.
We are sure your child will enjoy this exciting field trip. In order to go on the trip, however, students must have no overdue library books, must have their textbook check okayed by each teacher and must also have their emergency cards completed and on file at KMS. Additionally, students who have more than one discipline referral, or any Level III or Level IV discipline referral, beginning January 31st will not be able to attend the trip.
Students may request either a full scholarship or a partial scholarship to help pay for the cost of the field trip. A student requesting a scholarship must be eligible for the trip by meeting all of the requirements mentioned in the previous paragraph. However, students requesting a scholarship must have NO discipline referrals beginning January 31st.
We will be collecting permission slips and $60 until 3:30 PM on Tuesday, April 1st. Students who want to attend must turn in their permission slip and money before this time. Checks or money orders should be made out to Kanapaha Middle School.
We very much appreciate your parental support at KMS. If you would like to be a chaperone on this trip, please let your child’s homeroom teacher know immediately. You will be sent an informative letter explaining your duties and responsibilities for the approximately 10 students you will be looking after. In appreciation for chaperoning, your cost will be $30.
If you are interested in sponsoring a child who may not be able to afford the trip, donations in any amount are gladly accepted and very much appreciated.
