Freshman Academy
The purpose of the Freshman Academy is to insure a smooth and successful transition from middle school to high school. Our goal is to help 9th graders establish the skills and habits necessary for achieving a high level of performance in a challenging academic environment that is career focused. Our approach is to offer a personalized small learning community in the 9th grade with a career and technical focus that stresses academic excellence, good attendance, positive discipline, and preparing our freshman for success in high school and beyond.
The Freshman Academy leads students towards greater self-knowledge, enabling them to make intelligent, well-thought decisions about their own futures. Career choices help students identify their own passions, values, personality styles, skills and aptitudes. This knowledge then leads them to investigate careers that match their strengths and desires. As the “fit” become more apparent so does the motivation to strive to prepare themselves for a desirable future.

Criteria
The Criteria to be in the Freshman Academy are as follows
- 2.0 GPA or Higher
- Regular Attendance
- Positive Discipline
- Have an Interest in our Career/Technical Programs
- Desire to Pursue Post-Secondary Education and/or Career Training
