ROLE OF THE DISTRICT MEDIA
SUPERVISOR

Your school has been assigned a District Media
Supervisor to serve as a media liaison between your school and
the Department of Learning Resources. Your Media Supervisor has
six major areas of responsibility.
For Your School
1. To assist with the development of plans
for the organization and management of your media center including
selection, acquisition, distribution, inventory control and maintenance
of all instructional materials and related equipment at your
school.
2. To assist you when working with teachers
and staff in the design, development, and utilization of instructional
media, including assistance with media workshops.
3. To assist you and your principal in becoming
aware of and organizing to comply with Federal, State and District
needs, policies, regulations, and procedures affecting your school.
For the District
1. To keep abreast of the latest trends in
media and help identify and shape future district direction for
same.
2. To assure that district investments in
media are properly utilized and protected.
3. To serve as the System Administrator for
the Dynix Computer System.
Your District Media Supervisor will handle
all communications concerning LRC services requested for your
school, review all requisitions for media materials, process
all materials bought, and meet and confer with you on regular
bases.
In return, we would like to see you work at
keeping your District Media Supervisor informed concerning media
related projects and activities and sharing in-house communications,
etc., dealing with your center activities and services.
