Newberry High Schools Remembrance of 9-11-2001

We want to thank you for this morning, for allowing us to all come together as brothers and sisters, we thank you for America, for the freedom we experience here, for the forum in which people from all races and backgrounds can unite behind  one cause.

We also want to remember the lives of those who  were taken from us on September 11, 2001.  While we all mourn the  loss of our fellow citizens, we   also want to take time to celebrate the lives of   those lost.

We also want to remember the lives of our soldiers who have gone out in the wake of 9/11 to defend our freedom.  We can never forget the first responders who rushed in those buildings when human nature would have dictated a turn in the   other direction.

A group of radical fundamentalists underestimated the American Spirit.  We have risen above the ashes of tragedy and the American Spirit shines today brighter than ever.  Our spirit is not in our buildings or monuments, our spirit cannot be shattered by a 747...the American Spirit lives within each of us and by remembering those we lost it will shine forever.
