Morning supervision begins in the
kindergarten centrium at 7:15. If you arrive before 7:15, please wait outside
the centrium doors with your child until the morning supervision
teacher is on duty. Messages for your child’s teacher may be left in the
boxes provided outside the centrium doors.
The first bell rings at 7:40. At this time
children are able to go into their classrooms. The tardy bell rings at
7:45 and classes begin then. If a child arrives after the tardy bell, he/she
should check in at the front office before coming to the classroom.
The first day of school parents may
bring their child to the classroom. To prevent tears, parents should then
quickly say their good-byes. It is generally helpful to the child if parents
say good-bye at the classroom door.
After the first day, please leave your child
at the double doors that lead into the kindergarten centrium. We have found
that children have an easier time saying goodbye at the double doors than
in front of their peers. A teacher will greet them and direct them to the
appropriate area. There will be adult supervision for children who need
to arrive between 7:15 and 7:45 in the kindergarten centrium.
