Oak View has
over 3200 Accelerated Reader (AR) Practice Quizzes.
Students earn points by reading AR books and successfully
answering the quiz questions for those books. Each AR book
in Oak View's Media Center is marked with blue tape and has
a sticker indicating its reading level and number of points
a student will earn if a score of one hundred percent is achieved.
After
reading an AR book, students take a test on a computer in
a classroom, the Media Center, or a lab and earn points for correct answers. Points
are banked until they are "spent", or until the
student finishes the eighth grade. When students are ready
to cash in some, or all of their points, they submit a prize
order to their reading teacher after checking out the cool
AR merchandise in the media center window! Teachers submit
prize orders to the Media Center. |
