A++
Information
|
| Dear Parent/Guardians,
Your child is required
to meet the new middle school promotion requirements based on House
Bill 7087, better known as the A++ law. These students must pass
the following courses to be promoted from middle school to high
school:
Three (3) middle school
or higher courses in English/Language Arts
Three (3) middle school or higher courses in Mathematics
Three (3) middle school or higher courses in Social Studies
Three (3) middle school or higher courses in Science
One (1) semester-long course in Career and Education Planning, to
be taught in 7th or 8th grade
At the end of the first
semester, if your son/daughter had a failing grade in one or more
of these required courses, there is still time for your child
to improve his/her performance. Satisfactory performance during
the second semester (semester grade of C or higher) can result in
a passing grade for the entire year. Final grades will be determined
by combining the first semester grade with the second semester grade.
Students who fail one
or more of these required courses will be required to make up the
course in summer school or through other credit-retrieval options
before being promoted to high school.
If you have any questions,
please don't hesitate to call the school
@ 472-1102.
Sincerely,
Karen Clarke
Principal
