Each year one eighth grade student at each middle school will be awarded an 8th Grade Incentive Scholarship. The scholarship will pay for 60 hours of tuition at a Florida Public Community College. Selection is made by the school's principal. To keep the scholarship, the student will be required to
- Attend grades 9-12 in an Alachua County public school,
- Maintain good attendance,
- Complete each school year with at least a C average,
- Never be adjudicated guilty for any legal infraction except traffic violations, and
- Remain drug, alcohol and tobacco free during their public school career.
