Students are encouraged to participate in the
Accelerated Reader program. Accelerated Reader (AR) is a software
program designed to develop and enhance reading comprehension skills.
Books are assigned a specific reading level and given a point value.
As students read a book, they are encouraged to take an AR quiz to test
their comprehension of the book they read. Points are awarded based on the number of questions that a student answers correctly on the book. For example, a book may be worth 5 points. If a student answers 8 out of 10 questions correctly, he/she would be awarded 4 points for that book. Students accumulate points during the year and are recognized when they reach established class or school goals. In addition to recognition, students will be presented awards and certificates at the end of the school year. We now have 2636 AR tests and are constantly adding more tests each year. Listed below are the Accelerated Reader Quizzes that we have at Rawlings. They are listed by Title, Author and Reading Level. Please encourage your child to take advantage of this motivating program!
