The Department of Research, Assessment and
Student Information supports the Curriculum
Division and the schools of the district.
The department administers the following
functions:
The Center provides
information to educators throughout the district to assist
them in meeting the needs of the district's diverse student
body. This site includes the Reporting Center that
extracts data from the
district's student MIS system and presents it to educators
in more convenient formats.
The Department coordinates and administers standardized and
district assessments.
Parents who home school
their children are required to meet certain state and
district guidelines to insure the needs of the students are
being meet. The department provides this information
to the parents and monitors annual compliance with the
guidelines.
The
research function focuses on controlling the research
activities of other agencies within the schools as well as
coordinating and assisting in-district research efforts.
Every student has a right of privacy in the educational records kept by the School Board.
The records are confidential under federal and state law, and may not be released
by school employees except as provided in Board Policy 8350
