Assigned on April 22, due date TBA (depending on class progress).

Create a new website. Start by making a folder and call it expertweb. Create a BRAND NEW website using all of the skills that you have learned using either program that you prefer (Dreamweaver or Frontpage)

Your website should show that you are an expert about your topic. Your purpose is to teach others about what you know about it. You should have 3-5 subtopics (pages). Your page will be called "The world of ____________ according to ___________".

For example: If I were an expert about cooking. I would create a website called the world of cooking according to Mr. Rhodes. I would have a main page linked to 3 other pages. Those pages would be subtopics about cooking. One would be called the history of cooking, another would be my favorite recipes, and the last one would be tips to become a good cook.

Any image used from another website must be credited on the image (using an image program). See the example here:
sample of how to document picture sources

YOU MAY NOT PLAGIARIZE. Content should be your own. If you choose to read what other experts have to say about something, you may put what they said in YOUR OWN WORDS. If I detect plagiarism, your score is an AUTOMATIC 50%. No exceptions. If you quote a website, you must link back to that website.

The grade you will recieve will be based on YOUR OWN content. For example, if you have a website chopped full of other websites' information, you will not get as good of a grade as the person who took the time to WRITE all of the content, take images and make new ones, etc.

Date and Time Stamp

  • On every page you create, you should include a section that says when the page was last updated and by whom.  FrontPage allows you to insert a date and time stamp that will automatically update every time you update your page.  This is handy since you don't have to remember to change the date every time you make a change.

  • To insert a date and time stamp...

    • Place the cursor where you want the stamp to be inserted
    • Select "Date and Time..." from the Insert Menu
    • Select the date format (and time format if desired)
    • Click "OK" and the date will then be updated every time you make a change to the page and save the changes.
