The teaching staff at the Traffic
Safety Center welcomes you to the Adult Driver Education Course. We
hope that you will gain the knowledge, experience, and skills from

Your attendance at these classes is extremely important. You cannot
gain the skills and experience needed to be a successful and safe

Times
Initially, the course meets from 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm, Mondays and
Thursdays.
When the driving phase begins (after about three weeks) you will be
divided into two groups:
For safety reasons all adults must be dropped off and picked up
outside the Traffic Safety Center, that is, outside the fenced area.
If it is raining we will allow you to drive into the center and be
dropped off or picked up.
There is a $250 lab fee for the course. A $150 deposit must be made
when you register for the course. The remaining $100 will be
collected by the end of the third week of class. Checks, money
orders, or cash can be accepted. We cannot take credit cards. Please
make checks payable to the School Board of Alachua County.
The staff at the Traffic Safety Center will do everything possible
to prepare you for your final driving test, but we do not guarantee
that you will pass. Excessive absences, as well as other factors,
may prevent you from obtaining the skills needed to achieve a
passing score.
