The department of
Special Instructional Programs coordinates instructional
support for students who require intensive instruction or
remediation and for students who are assigned to a
non-traditional school setting.
Major responsibilities of the
department include administrative and instructional support
for the district's federal Title I programs at elementary
schools.
The department also oversees the assignment of students to
Horizon/New Pathways, the district's alternative school for
disruptive students. Other responsibilities of the department
include the quality assurance of instructional programs for
students under the supervision of the Department of Juvenile
Justice.
