Lady Raider Basketball Discipline System-- 
                          Freshman, Junior Varsity & Varsity

A. Breaking the following rules will result in 5 Down & Backs

  1. Being tardy to practice, game or any team meeting or function.
  2. Not having proper practice uniform. (tops & bottoms)
  3. Failure to turn in paperwork on time, ex. Parent signatures, notebooks, report cards, progress reports, etc...
  4. Talking to spectators or visitors during games or practices.
  5. Using profanity
  6. Late with turning in fund raising monies. (will have many opportunities to meet goal)
  7. Wearing jewelry to practice.
  8. Failure to call head coach if absent from school to advise missing practice. (Must attend four classes to practice or play in a game.)
      • Each time rule is broken, one additional D&B will be added.
      • After three times of breaking any rule above, you will be benched.

B.  Breaking the following rules will result in an "Early Morning Riser" with a coach.

  1. Being sent to the office with a referral
  2. Inappropriate dress or behavior on school campus or at a school function.
  3. Missing a study hall without a coach's prior approval.
  4. Showing disrespect for teachers, administrators, and coaches or opposing team or coaches.
  5. Failure to show support for team during game or practice.
  6. Bad mouthing teammates or coaches
    • Each time rule is broken, one additional D&B will be added.
    • After three times of breaking any rule above, you will be benched.

C.  Grounds for immediate dismissal from the team.

  1. Being suspended from school.
  2. Failure to maintain a 2.0 GPA.
  3. Failure to attend a game which you are benched, (You must dress out and sit on bench with team.)
  4. Being sent to the office more than three times during a season.
  5. Fighting any time, anywhere., Ex. Games, etc.
  6. Failure of two or more classes.
  7. Smoking, drinking or cheating in school or at any school function.
  8. Missing practice without notifying Coach Cox or being excused.
  9. Breaking any rules or regulations set forth by the school. Lady Raider Constitution or FHSAA.

 



Other rules...

  1. If absent from school the day of a game, you cannot participate in the game. (You must dress out and sit on the bench with your team.) You may be excused for a school-related absence or doctor's note. You must attend four class periods MINIMUM to participate in the game.
  2. No smoking or drinking is ever permitted.
  3. All teams will travel together and sit together at the respected gym. You may ride home with your parent with prior approval from your coach and a written note from your parent.

Keeping in mind that some situations will arise that have not been stated above, consequences will apply after a decision has been made by the coach.



Away Trip Procedures for Basketball.

  1.  Be sure you know when your bus leaves
  2. All players ride on the bus to the game
  3. You can ride home with YOUR parents after the game. You must inform our coach before you leave. You must also have a parent note to give to your coach before you leave. Your coach will set the time you can leave. YOU MAY NOT RIDE HOME WITH ANYONE OTHER THAN YOUR PARENTS-- SO DON'T ASK!!!
  4. All school bus rules are in effect. No calling out the windows or body parts hanging out of the windows. Normal talking voices are required-- no screaming or shouting.
  5. Don't leave anything on the bus. The buses can't be locked and the driver is not responsible to watch our stuff.
  6. Players are expected to carry all equipment to the bus before you put your personal stuff on. We have a lot of stuff-- and your mother does NOT work here.
  7. Everyone will take the equipment off the bus when we get to the site. Everyone will put the equipment back on the bus when the game is over.
  8. Bring your homework!!!!!!
  9. You behavior and attitude should at all times reflect the highest character and class. DO NOT leave the immediate area and use the buddy system to bathrooms. There are a lot of weird people out there that are attracted to such events, so stick together.
  10. Let your parents know approximately when we will return to Santa Fe so that they will be available to pick you up without making your coaches have to wait. You will be able to use the PE office phone.
  11. Double-check before leaving the site and getting off the bus to make sure you have ll parts of your uniform and personal belongings.
