Our Goal

Our goal in the Guidance Department is to meet the school’s mission by providing our students with the services, resources, and skills to make them successful students and citizens. We do this through a number of services for our students’ academic, personal/social, and career development.

How Our Services are Used

Our Guidance Counselors focus on the academic, personal/social, and career development of our students. Below are some examples:

Advise students on graduation requirements	Building Self-Esteem	Providing information on dual enrollment, Florida Virtual School, Credit Retrieval Option Program(CROP)
Interpret Assessment Data and Coordinate Standardized Test	Peer Pressure, Resolve conflicts effectively, develop effective relationships with others	Providing information on colleges, universities, vocational schools, technical schools, military, and immediate entry to the workforce
Providing students with study and testing skills	Set realistic and attainable goals (educational and career)	Creating a Resume, cover letter, preparing for the life after high school
