Welcome to Myra Terwilliger Elementary School. We are looking forward to a wonderful 2009-2010 school year.

A Message from our Principal

It is hard to believe the first nine-week grading period is over. Teachers have been working hard to help your child be successful in school. Please take a close look at the report card today. Grades are important, but so are the comments that teachers make on the report card. If your child has subject areas in which they need to improve, please discuss with the teacher what your child needs to do in order to improve. Also, ask how you can support improvement in the subject area at home.

Terwilliger invites you to join your child for Thanksgiving Dinner here at school Thursday, November 19th. In the next few days a form will be sent home with your child giving you details about the dinner. Please return the form by the due date so that Ms. Hall, our Cafeteria Manager knows approximately how many meals to prepare. We look forward to seeing you!

We are thrilled to be part of the 21st Century Grant offering free afterschool enrichment activities Monday – Thursday beginning November 16th. This is available to ALL of Terwilliger’s kindergarten – 5th grade students. A packet with information and a registration form has been sent home with all students. If for some reason you did not receive the packet, ask your child’s teacher to send another packet home. You will want to return this quickly because 75 is the maximum number of students the program can serve.

I am enjoying getting to know your children and watching them learn each day. Thank you for being such an important member of the “team” that educates your child. With parents, educators, and members of the community working together there is no limit to what our children can achieve.

Thank you!

Lynn McNeill
