Waldo Community School

Math Superstars is an enrichment math program taught by Miss Tucker to students
in grades 1 - 5. Students receive a Math Superstar paper each week. Students may
receive assistance on any problem on the paper. These
challenging papers are preparing students for the FCAT (Florida Comprehensive
Assessment Test) in grades 3-5. Each problem on the paper is worth points. As
the children turn in their papers each week they accumulate points. Students
receive awards throughout the year based upon how many points they accumulate:
50 points - a Superstar sticker and a piece of Starburst candy
100 points - a Superstar certificate and a piece of Starburst candy
150 points - a Superstar pencil and a piece of Starburst candy
200 points - a Superstar button and a piece of Starburst candy
250 points - a free ice cream treat and a piece of Starburst candy
300 points - a free personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut and a piece of Starburst
candy
At the end of each year medals are
given to the children who have the three highest
scores in each class.
As the children accumulate their points their names will be published in the
weekly school newsletter. Watch for your child's name!
