We are looking forward to serving all of Westwood's students, and invite parents into the Media Center, too! Students may check out three(3) books for up to three(3) weeks IF they have no overdue books. Students may renew a book if more time is needed. A book may only be renewed once. Reference books may not be checked out.

The Westwood Media Center is the hub and the heart of Westwood Middle School! Our Media Center has over 16,000 books and reference materials available for research and reading enjoyment. We have over 3,000 Accelerated Reader (AR) books. We have computers for Internet Research and AR testing.

Westwood Middle School is the center school for ESOL (international) students. Our Media Center has an "International Corner" with the 'Eiffel Tower' that houses books and materials about countries and cultures around the world.

The Media Center also houses a television production studio that airs the WHIRLED News morning show. Television crew members from the school broadcast the morning announcements live every day of the school year. The WHIRLED news crew are recipients of the Jim Harbin Award for the past three years for their excellence in news production.
