Want to become a speaker in our Speakers' Bureau?

If you'd like to help us enhance our student’s education by becoming a classroom speaker, thank you! We are always looking for volunteers who would like to share their careers, passions and expertise with our students, faculty and staff. Our schools request a variety of presentation topics for many different events. Some of these events include Career Day, Vehicle Day, Holidays Around the World, International Cultures, and STE(A)M. In addition, the Volunteer and Business Partnership Program recruits judges for our middle school science fairs, which occur in November and December each year.

To register for any of the above programs, please go to our Speaker Registration Form and complete our district's Volunteer Application, which will run a basic background check to ensure the safety of our students. In addition, please provide the team with an outline of your presentation or your slideshow presentation. You can email that to speakersbureau@gm.sbac.edu so that we can review it and ensure safety for our students. We also want to ensure that the program is appropriate and that you respect speaker/volunteer guidelines.

For more information or if you have any questions, contact the Speakers Bureau at 352-955-7250 X6413 or speakersbureau@gm.sbac.edu.

Teachers- do you need a speaker for your school or class?

The School Volunteer and Partnership Program will help you schedule speakers to present educational programs to your students, teachers, or staff.

The Speakers Bureau maintains a listing of agencies, organizations, and individuals who want to share their talents, careers, and international perspectives. It is the “booking agency” that schedules speakers, and provides confirmation details to the schools and the speakers. Every effort is made to fill requests as they are received through a master calendar. If too many events are scheduled on the date you requested, it may be necessary to reschedule for a different date. It may take several weeks for your request to be processed, but once it is processed we will reach out to potential speakers/presenters and confirm the details with you.

To book a speaker, follow these easy steps:

    • Complete a Speaker Request Form for each presentation you would like to schedule.
    • Please provide as much detail as possible in your request, including alternate dates and times.
    • When your speaker is scheduled, confirmation packets will be emailed to you, the speaker, and your front office so the event can be placed on your school’s master calendar.
    • A partial listing of currently available topics is below. If you don’t see your topic listed, don’t hesitate to ask for it anyway as we are happy to work with you to find a presenter.
    • Depending on the availability of speakers, all topics are subject to change.

Additional topics may be added as new speakers volunteer. For questions, contact the Volunteer & Partner Team at 352-955-7250 X6413 or speakersbureau@gm.sbac.edu.
