COVID-19 Health & Safety Protocols: COVID Vaccines

  • Walk up Vaccine Clinics

Vaccinations, including boosters, are also available every day at the Health Department at 224 SE 24th Street in Gainesville. Vaccinations are given Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. These are walk-in clinics, no registration is needed.

There are also several pharmacies around the county offering free vaccinations. For more information, see Getting a Vaccine in Alachua County.

    Vaccine Clinics on Campus

The district is once again partnering with the Alachua County Health Department to provide FREE COVID-19 vaccinations for eligible students (those ages 12 and up) on campus during the school day.

If you would like your child to receive the free vaccination, please submit the COVID-19 Vaccine Consent Form [available in Spanish] to your child’s school. Forms should not be submitted earlier than ten days before the clinic day at your school. Forms can be returned the day of the clinic, although we do ask parents to submit the forms ahead of time if possible.

Additionally, the highly successful Control Flu program, which provides free flu vaccinations on school campuses in Alachua County, will be expanded to offer COVID vaccination to eligible students with a completed consent form.

    Employee Vaccine Incentives

With the safety and well-being of staff and students in mind, ACPS is offering a one-time incentive of $100 to district employees who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. To get the incentive, Current employees should fill out the vaccination incentive form and submit proof of vaccination (COVID vaccination card) on Skyward ERP.

Those who get their first Pfizer or Moderna vaccine by September 30 and their second shot by October 31 will be eligible for a $100 incentive. Employees who get the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccination by October 31 will also be eligible.

Employees who have already received all the needed shots can apply for the incentive now.

    Employee Vaccine Leave and Absences

Employees will be eligible for paid Covid Leave to get vaccinated or if they have side effects after vaccination. Employees will have up to two (2) days of paid COVID leave to receive/recover from vaccination shots. Such leave cannot be scheduled in advance or allocated for future use.
