The Alachua County Scholastic Chess Association (ACSCA) is a nonprofit organization that organizes chess clubs in the public schools throughout Alachua County. ACSCA also organizes tournaments and offers private lessons. In addition to upper echelon programs like Williams, ACSCA is invested in offering free services to economically challenged populations in east Gainesville.
The Chess Club meets Wednesdays from August-March. Club fees are $150 with sibling discounts available.

Two of our Wildcat 4th and 5th Graders recently played in the Under 10 Chess World Championship in Spain, finishing 24th out of over 200 players and tying for First Place and brought home a World Championship. These two extraordinary players have turned Williams Elementary into a chess powerhouse on the world stage. Go Wildcats!
