This letter is for students who are going from 6th grade regular to 7th grade advanced:
We are excited to see that you did such a great job in 6th grade math last year. Due to the fact that you may have missed some important skills when advancing to the next level, we are encouraging you to make up these missing skills.
You will not only catch up on what you may have missed but, you can earn extra credit during the summer, review past concepts, and preview new skills. The program is free and accessed by computer or smartphone using the Google Classroom App.
How it works:
Current 6th graders will join a Google Classroom based on their math placement for the 2019-2020 school year. To join your classroom, login to your school email. If this is the first time you have used your school mail, it must be done on a school computer. Click on the “Google Apps” icon. Select Classroom. Click the “+”. Then enter the code below:
There will be instructional videos, practice problems, and other resources in the Google Classroom. Teachers will answer questions, provide help and give feedback to students throughout the summer.
This program is designed to help students review over the summer and catch up on missed skills so concepts stay fresh and they are able to come back ready to excel next year.
