ACPS Rezoning Information

The School Board has voted to begin the process of comprehensive rezoning, which means redrawing school attendance zones districtwide. Zones for all elementary, middle and high schools will be reviewed during this process. New zones are expected to be finalized in November of 2023 and take effect for the 2024-25 school year.
The district has scheduled community meetings to share current enrollment, capacity and other information and to gather public input before any new zone lines/maps are created.
The schedule for those meetings is:
April 19, 5:30 pm: Oak View Middle School, 1203 SW 250th Street, Newberry
April 25, 5:30 pm: Wiles Elementary School, 4601 SW 75 St, Gainesville
April 27, 5:30 pm: Metcalfe Elementary School, 1250 NE 18th Ave, Gainesville
May 4, 5:30 pm: Norton Elementary School, 2200 NW 45th Ave, Gainesville
May 10, 5:30 pm: Santa Fe High School, 16213 NW US 441, Alachua
Additional meetings will be scheduled for the fall to gather input from the public after new zone lines and maps have been developed. Special School Board meetings and workshops will also be held to discuss rezoning, and the public will be able to weigh in during those meetings as well.
