November 18, 2020 Announcements
It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther!
Here are the announcements for Wednesday, November 18th:
Only 2 more days until Thanksgiving Break…..finish strong Panthers!
We are continuing our annual food drive for Thanksgiving through this Friday (November 20th)! Our goal is to feed 30 NHS families this year and we are making progress, but we desperately need your help. PS: The 1st period that collects the most boxes will win a gourmet breakfast!
Due to the upcoming Thanksgiving school break, school meal sites will be distributing meals for 14 days (between both days) by doubling the meals handed out at all of the pickup locations in Alachua County this week on Tuesday and Thursday, from 9:30 am until 1:00 pm. Be sure to pick up meals this Thursday as there will be no meal distribution next week.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL: The Varsity girls basketball team played Union County High School last night and has an amazing win with a final score of 48-19. Way to go Ladies!

Also placing in their respective weight classes were Briana Larks, Leila Parsons, Tanna Ray, Danielle Oliveira, Shardae Paz, and Sidney Seay. Go Panthers!

CHEERLEADING: If you are interested in being a part of the winter cheer team to cheer for the basketball season, please come to practice today after school. Practice will be held in the NHS auditorium beginning at 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm. Make sure to dress in workout clothes with athletic shoes. You must wear a mask and bring your own water bottle. More information will be provided at the practice.
Food and Drinks: There should be none in the buildings. NHS is a closed campus and students are not permitted to leave campus for lunch. Students are not allowed to bring Polar Cups or “to go” cups to campus. Water bottles are encouraged and we have several bottle filling stations around campus.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts everyday for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something (www.getfortifyfl.com). Everyone believes in your success but “whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right --Henry Ford”, but most importantly, “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
