It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther!
Here are the announcements for Thursday, January 7th:
The H.O.P.E. Squad will hold a meeting tomorrow in the NHS auditorium during Lunch A and Lunch B. Students will need to get their food first and then immediately go to the auditorium to participate.
The FCA will hold its weekly meeting tomorrow morning before school in Mrs. Harris’ room. Everyone is welcome to attend, so please feel free to stop by if you are interested in joining.
BASKETBALL: Tonight the Girls’ Varsity and the Boys’ JV and Varsity teams will play AT HOME against the Ft. White Indians beginning at 4:30 pm. Tickets will be sold at the door on the day of the games. Tomorrow night (January 7th) will be a busy night for our Panthers! The JV and Varsity girls’ teams AND the JV and Varsity boys’ teams will play AT HOME against the Indians beginning at 3:30 pm. On Friday (January 8th) the boys’ JV team will travel to Dunnellon High School to play at 6:00 pm and the girls’ Varsity team will play AT HOME against Dunnellon High School beginning at 6:00 pm. Tickets will be sold at the door on the day of all the games. Come on out and cheer on your Panthers! Season Programs for both the boys’ and girls’ teams will be on sale at all home games for $1.00 each. Newberry Panthers lanyards will also be on sale at the concession stand at all home games for $5.00 each.
SOCCER: The boys’ soccer team will travel to Keystone Heights High School (900 Orchid Avenue, Keystone Heights, FL) tonight to play the Indians. The girls’ game has been cancelled. Tickets for this game are available for purchase at Tomorrow night the boys’ and girls’ teams are scheduled to play AT HOME against Ft. White with the girls’ team taking the field at 5:00 pm and the boy’s team playing at 6:30 pm. Tickets will be sold at the gate on the day of the games.
SOFTBALL: There will be an informational meeting for any girls who may be interested in playing softball next Tuesday (January 12th) at 3:30 pm at the NHS softball field.
Today’s reminder:
Dress Code: Make sure your school attire is appropriate and not distracting. As the weather gets cooler, please remember that you are not permitted to wear pajama pants or bring blankets to school. Do not wear hats or hoodies in the buildings. Failure to follow the dress code guidelines may result in lunch detention.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts everyday for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something ( Everyone believes in your success but “whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right --Henry Ford” BUT most importantly, “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
