January 25, 2021 Announcements

It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther!
Here are the announcements for Monday, January 25th:

Don’t forget the Semester Exams this week!
* Tuesday, January 26th - 1st and 2nd pd
* Wednesday, January 27th - 3rd and 4th pd
* Thursday, January 28th - 5th and 6th pd
All classes will be administering an exam/test during these exam days so please make sure students are on time and prepared. Please also minimize late check ins and early check outs to avoid the disruptions to classes. Remember that semester exams can count toward a significant portion of your semester grades.

Newberry High School yearbooks are still on sale for the 2020-2021 school year! The yearbook cost at this time is $55.00 and a $5.00 deposit (exact cash or checks only) is required to guarantee this price as the yearbook cost will increase to $65.00 after February 1, 2021. Please see Ms. Steele in the Media Center or contact her by email (steelesd@gm.sbac.edu) for more details or to place your deposit!

Our Criminal Justice Academy will hold it’s Open House in a virtual format tomorrow beginning at 6:00 pm. This is a wonderful way for incoming 9th grade students to experience all that Newberry High School has to offer.

BASKETBALL: The Freshmen and Varsity boys’ teams will play AT HOME tomorrow against the Buchholz High School Bobcats beginning at 5:30 pm. On Wednesday (January 27th) the boys’ and girls’ JV and Varsity teams will travel to Williston High School (350 Robert Philpot Way, Williston, FL) to take on the Bears beginning at 3:30 pm and tickets will be sold at the door on the day of the games.

GIRLS LACROSSE: If you are interested in playing lacrosse this year, you will need to meet at the track this week at 3:15 pm. If you have any questions, see Coach Roundtree.

Today’s reminder:
Tardies: Whether you attend school through the digital academy or as a brick and mortar student, tardies impact school success and student behavior, are a distraction to all students, and cause a disruption in teaching. Make sure you’re on time every day, to every class. Excessive tardies may result in lunch detention or ISD.

Students, please remember to check your school email accounts everyday for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something (www.getfortifyfl.com). Everyone believes in your success but “whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right --Henry Ford” BUT most importantly, “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
