April 21, 2021 Announcements

It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther!
Here are the announcements for Wednesday, April 21st:

Report Cards will be available for viewing in Skyward tomorrow. If you need assistance to view the Report Card, please contact the NHS Guidance Office.

Student Government will be accepting applications for rising Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors, also for the student body offices as well. The applications are in Mr. Marlowe's room, and they are due by next Friday, April 30. It's time to get involved and make a difference!

Prom tickets can be purchased from Ms. Thomas in the media center. The price for a ticket is $55 and ticket prices will increase to $65 beginning Monday, April 26th.

SENIORS: We are collecting memories from your time here at NHS for the Senior video. Please bring your pictures to Ms. Steele in the media center or email them to steelesd@gm.sbac.edu. Additionally, Senior Week is quickly approaching. We have many fun activities planned, one of which is a trip to Hornsby Springs. That day will include breakfast and lunch and an excursion to the Springs. The cost of the day is $10. Make sure to see Mr. Marlowe with your money so you can participate!

The F.C.A. will hold their meeting on Friday, April 23rd, before school at 8:10 am in Mrs. Harris’ room. Feel free to stop by!

FOOTBALL: Today at 3:05 pm there will be a football workout on the practice field. Spring football practices will start on Monday, April 26th at 3:05 pm on the NHS practice field.

BASEBALL: The Varsity team will play their last game AT HOME on Thursday, April 22nd, at 7:00 pm. Tickets for this game are only available online at https://gofan.co/app/school/FL17054.

SOFTBALL: The softball team will travel to North Marion High School to play at 6:00 pm tomorrow. Tickets for the away game will be sold at the gate on the day of the games.

CHEERLEADING: Our cheerleading squad will compete in the Nationals Competition in Orlando this weekend beginning tomorrow.

Today’s reminder:
Food and Drinks: There should be none in the buildings. NHS is a closed campus and students are not permitted to leave campus for lunch. Additionally, you may not have food dropped off or delivered to you. Students are not allowed to bring Polar Cups or “to go” cups to campus. Water bottles are encouraged and we have several bottle filling stations around campus.

Students, please remember to check your school email accounts everyday for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something (www.getfortifyfl.com). Everyone believes in your success but “whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right --Henry Ford” BUT most importantly, “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
