It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther!
Here are the announcements for Friday, April 23rd:
The National Honor Society and Interact clubs are re-mulching the front courtyard at the NHS campus tomorrow morning. If you wish to participate and earn service hours please meet at the front of the school at 9:00 am.
It's not too late for you to sign up your students (over the age of 16) to receive the COVID-19 vaccinations on the NHS campus. The first vaccination date is this Monday, April 26th, and the second vaccination will be given on May 17th. Consent forms and additional information is available in the NHS front office and on the NHS website.
Newberry High School Prom 2021 will take place this year at the beautiful Granville Plantation on Friday, May 7th. Tickets are now on sale for $55.00 per ticket and can be purchased from Mrs. Kathi Thomas in the Media Center. Ticket prices will increase to $65.00 this Monday. To purchase tickets you must be off the debt list, so please make sure all debts are paid in full.
Newberry High School yearbooks are still on sale for the 2020-2021 school year! The yearbook cost is $65.00 and a $5.00 deposit is required to reserve your yearbook. Please see Ms. Steele in the Media Center or contact her by email (email@example.com) for more details or to place your deposit!
Seniors, graduation will be here before you know it! If you have not already done so, please make sure to order your cap and gown for graduation from Herff Jones. Order forms are available in the NHS front office or you can order directly from Herff Jones at their website: www.herffjones.com.
We're having a "try it" session for next year's percussion section after school on Friday April 30th. No experience needed. See Mr. DeRemer in the band room for more information. Additionally, do you have experience in dance or gymnastics, or just want to perform for others? Pre-season training for the fall color guard starting on May 3rd from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm. No experience needed. See Mr. DeRemer in the band room for more information.
FOOTBALL: Spring football practices will start on Monday, April 26th at 3:05pm on the NHS football practice field.
BASEBALL: The Varsity team will play a district semifinal game on Tuesday, April 27th, by facing either Trenton or Chiefland AT Williston High School beginning at 4:00 pm. A win on Tuesday would mean our baseball team would play in the 1A District 7 Championship game on Thursday, April 29th, AT Williston High School at 7:00 pm. Tickets for all playoff games are available at the gate on the days of the games.
SOFTBALL: The softball team will play a district quarterfinal game on Monday, April 26th, by facing Bronson High School AT Chiefland High School beginning at 7:00 pm. A win for the girls on Monday would mean they would play a district semifinal game on Tuesday, April 27th, AT Chiefland High School at 5:00 pm. Tickets for all playoff games are available at the gate on the days of the games.
Phones and Headphones: These must be off and out of sight, both in class and during class changes. Cell phones and headphones are only permitted to be in use before and after school, and during lunch periods.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts everyday for important announcements and reminders.
