It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther!
Here are the announcements for Thursday, May 20th:
The F.C.A. wil have its meeting tomorrow morning before school at 8:10 am in Mrs. Harris’ room. Everyone is welcome so stop on by!
FSA ELA READING: The 10th Grade students who attend school in-person will finish the FSA ELA Reading test tomorrow.
BASEBALL: The link below is for the NFHS Network if you would like to watch the Varsity baseball game tonight at 7:00 pm. You will need to create an account and subscribe to watch: You can also listen to the audio play by play on 106.9 FM.
SIDELINE CHEER: The sideline cheer squad will be holding its first tryouts in the NHS gym this Saturday, May 22nd. Open Gym, in order to work on skills, will be conducted on Tuesdays and Thursdays through May 20th. Clinics to prepare for tryouts will be on May 22nd, May 24th, and May 25th. Interested participants must either have a current physical on file with NHS or bring one with them to the open gym night and information packets are in the NHS front office.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL: There will be an Open Gym on Monday and Wednesday of next week from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm for any girls interested in becoming a part of the girls’ basketball team next year. THERE WILL BE NO OPEN GYM ON MAY 24TH OR MAY 27TH. Please make sure to bring your own water bottle if you plan to participate. See Coach Hughes if you have any questions. You must either have a current physical on file with NHS or bring one with you to open gym night.
Today’s reminder:
Dress Code: Make sure your school attire is appropriate and not distracting. You may not wear baggy/saggy pants and bottoms will not be shorter than “mid thigh”. Tops must cover the midriff, back, and sides of the body at all times. You may not wear bedroom slippers or shoes with wheels. Do not wear hats or hoodies in the buildings. Failure to follow the dress code guidelines may result in lunch detention.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts everyday for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something ( Everyone believes in your success but “whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right --Henry Ford” BUT most importantly, “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
