Here are the announcements for Friday, November 5th:
๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Please remember there is no school next Thursday (November 11th) in observance of Veteran’s Day.
๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿˆ It’s the last day of Homecoming Week! We hope to see everyone at the Varsity Football Game vs. South Sumter High School. Kickoff is at 7:30 pm and tickets are ONLY available from The NHS Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned during halftime.
๐Ÿšฉ The Newberry Winter Guard will be hosting auditions on the following dates: November 9, 12, 16, and 19 from 3:30 pm until 5:30 pm in the NHS Band Room. The Winter Guard is open to Oakview Middle School and Newberry High School students in 7th through 12th grades. The Winter Guard performs a show involving flags, equipment, and dance and plans to compete at the State level this year. No experience is required. Please see Mr. DeRemer or any band student for more information on how to join.
๐Ÿฆƒ Our annual food drive for Thanksgiving is still happening and we need your help!. Our goal is to feed 30 NHS families this year and we need your help! SGA has distributed collection boxes to every 1st period teacher with a list of items needed to fill the box. Each time your class fills a box, your teacher will get a leaf added to the leaderboard in the hallway by the NHS Front Office. The 1st period that collects the most boxes will win a gourmet breakfast!
๐Ÿ‘‘The Pageant for Miss NHS and Junior Miss NHS will be held on December 3rd in the NHS Auditorium. If you are interested in participating, please see Mrs. Kathi Thomas in the NHS Media Center to get your application.
๐Ÿ˜ท Signed Parental Mask Opt-Out forms are being accepted in the NHS Front Office. Please call the NHS Front Office if you have any questions.
Today’s Reminder:
Dress Code: Make sure your school attire is appropriate and not distracting. You may not wear baggy/saggy pants and bottoms will not be shorter than “mid thigh”. Tops must cover the midriff, back, and sides of the body at all times. You may not wear bedroom slippers or shoes with wheels. Head coverings of any kind are not permitted to be worn inside. Failure to follow the dress code guidelines may result in lunch detention.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts everyday for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something ( Success is best when it is shared BUT most importantly, “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
