November 9, 2021 Announcements

It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther! 🐾
Here are the announcements for Tuesday, November 9th:
🥶 Students, please remember that even though it is getting cooler outside blankets are not allowed at school. Also, you must still follow all dress code policies, including not wearing pajamas, slippers, or any type of head coverings. If you have any questions, please see Dean Burford or Dean Moore.
🇺🇸 Please remember there is no school this Thursday (November 11th) in observance of Veteran’s Day.
📋 Our next grading period will close next Tuesday (November 16th). Make sure to have all your coursework completed and turned in to get credit! Progress Reports will be available for viewing in Skyward next Thursday (November 18th).
🦃 Our annual food drive for Thanksgiving will continue through next week and we need your help!. Our goal is to feed 30 NHS families this year and we need your help! SGA has distributed collection boxes to every 1st period teacher with a list of items needed to fill the box. Each time your class fills a box, your teacher will get a leaf added to the leaderboard in the hallway by the NHS Front Office. The 1st period that collects the most boxes will win a gourmet breakfast!
👑The Pageant for Miss NHS and Junior Miss NHS will be held on December 3rd in the NHS Auditorium. If you are interested in participating, please see Mrs. Kathi Thomas in the NHS Media Center to get your application.
😷 Signed Parental Mask Opt-Out forms are being accepted in the NHS Front Office. Please call the NHS Front Office if you have any questions.
Today’s Reminder:
COVID-19 Guidelines: Starting today, masks are to be worn inside at all times unless a properly completed Alachua County Public Schools Parental Mask Exemption Form OR Student Mask Opt-Out Medical Exemption Form has been turned into the NHS Front Office. Masks continue to be optional when you are outside. Please continue to wash your hands, practice social distancing, and don’t share any items.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts everyday for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something ( Success is best when it is shared BUT most importantly, “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
