Here are the announcements for Wednesday, April 20th:
๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿƒ‍โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ‍โ™‚๏ธ If you are interested in participating in 10th grade Powder Puff activities, a sign up sheet will be available in Dr. Bolejack’s classroom before or after school.
๐ŸŽ“๐ŸŽค Seniors, this year we would like to offer the opportunity for 3 seniors to speak at the Class of 2022 graduation ceremony. If you are interested, please meet in the auditorium tomorrow at 3:00 pm to audition. You will need to prepare a one minute sample of your speech, which should not be based on a personal story, but instead inspire and motivate the graduating class. Students will be notified shortly after if you have been accepted to speak at the graduation ceremony and you will need to submit your final speech for approval prior to graduation.
๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿƒ‍โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ‍โ™‚๏ธ Juniors, if you want to participate in the Powder Puff activities, there will be an informational meeting tomorrow before school at 8:15 am in Mr. Marlowe's classroom.
๐ŸŽš The F.C.A. will hold a meeting this Friday (April 22nd) before school at 8:10 am in Mrs. Harris' classroom. Everyone is welcome, so make sure to stop by!
๐Ÿˆ If you are interested in playing football next school year, Spring football practice will begin next Monday (April 25th). Everyone will meet in the NHS Locker Room at 3:00 pm, don’t be late! You must have current FHSAA physical and consent forms on file in order to participate. These forms can be found in the NHS Front Office. If you have any questions, please see Coach Johnson or Coach Roundtree.
๐Ÿคก Students, do you need volunteer hours? The Newberry Elementary PTO needs your help with their Spring Carnival. You can sign up at
๐Ÿ’ฏSpring tutoring continues this week ๐Ÿ’ฏ On Mondays and Wednesdays we are offering tutoring in Algebra 1 in Mr. Birrenkott’s classroom, Geometry in Dr. Bolejack’s classroom, and Biology in Mr. Truesdell’s room. Then on Tuesdays and Thursdays, we will offer 9th English in Ms. Schentrup’s classroom and 10th grade English in Ms. Shelley’s classroom. All of these tutoring sessions will be from 3:00 pm until 4:30 pm.
โœ๏ธ After School CROP Sessions will continue in Ms. Burkett’s classroom from 3:00 pm until 5:30 pm on designated CROP days through May 2nd. If you are planning to attend, please make sure to be on time and ready to work!
๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍๐Ÿ’ป๐Ÿ‘จ‍๐Ÿ’ป Seniors, please check by often to the Counselor’s Corner on Canvas for new scholarship information. If you have any questions or need assistance, please come by and see Mrs. Cheggeh in the NHS Guidance Office.
Food and Drinks: There should be none in the buildings. NHS is a closed campus and students are not permitted to leave campus for lunch. Additionally, you may not have food dropped off or delivered to you. Students are not allowed to bring Polar Cups or “to go” cups to campus. Water bottles are encouraged and we have several bottle filling stations around campus.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something ( Success is best when it is shared BUT most importantly, “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
