Here are the announcements for Monday, April 25th:
๐Ÿ’ฌ We will begin our Week of HOPE tomorrow. During the remainder of this week, we will set time aside each day to focus on topics like drug/alcohol use, how to support a peer who is in need, self-care, and other topics related to mental health. We will dedicate one period a day to opening a dialog in the classroom.
๐Ÿ“‹ Students, the grading window for the next Progress Report ends tomorrow. Make sure to turn in all outstanding school work to your teachers before then! Progress Reports will be available for viewing in Skyward on Thursday (April 28th).
๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿƒ‍โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ‍โ™‚๏ธ There will be a Powder Puff practice tomorrow (April 26th) after school beginning at 3:00 pm at the NHS Track. Make sure to be on time! There will also be a meeting for 10th grade students interested in participating in Powder Puff before school on Wednesday, (April 27th) at 8:00 am in Dr. Bolejack’s classroom.
๐Ÿˆ If you are interested in playing football next school year, Spring football practice will begin on Monday (April 25th). Everyone will meet in the NHS Locker Room at 3:00 pm, don’t be late! You must have current FHSAA physical and consent forms on file in order to participate. These forms can be found in the NHS Front Office. If you have any questions, please see Coach Johnson or Coach Roundtree.
๐Ÿ’ฏSpring tutoring continues this week ๐Ÿ’ฏ On Mondays and Wednesdays we are offering tutoring in Algebra 1 in Mr. Birrenkott’s classroom, Geometry in Dr. Bolejack’s classroom, and Biology in Mr. Truesdell’s room. Then on Tuesdays and Thursdays, we will offer 9th English in Ms. Schentrup’s classroom and 10th grade English in Ms. Shelley’s classroom. All of these tutoring sessions will be from 3:00 pm until 4:30 pm.
โœ๏ธ After School CROP Sessions will continue in Ms. Burkett’s classroom from 3:00 pm until 5:30 pm on designated CROP days through May 2nd. If you are planning to attend, please make sure to be on time and ready to work!
๐Ÿคก Students, do you need volunteer hours? The Newberry Elementary PTO needs your help with their Spring Carnival this Saturday (April 30th). You can sign up at

Tardies: Tardies impact school success and student behavior, are a distraction to all students, and cause a disruption in teaching. Make sure you’re on time every day, to every class. Excessive tardies may result in lunch detention or ISD.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something ( Success is best when it is shared BUT most importantly, “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
