April 26, 2022 Announcements
It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther!
Here are the announcements for Tuesday, April 26th:
We are participating in our Week of HOPE. For the remainder of this week, we will set time aside each day to focus on topics like drug/alcohol use, how to support a peer who is in need, self-care, and other topics related to mental health. We will dedicate one period a day to opening a dialog in the classroom.
Progress Reports will be available for viewing in Skyward on Thursday (April 28th).
There will be a Powder Puff practice today after school beginning at 3:00 pm at the NHS Track. Make sure to be on time! There will also be a meeting for 10th grade students interested in participating in Powder Puff before school tomorrow at 8:00 am in Dr. Bolejack’s classroom.
Seniors, if you signed up to play Powder Puff, there will be a meeting tomorrow morning before school in the NHS Media Center at 8:15 am. Please make sure to bring $8.00 to the meeting to pay for your t-shirt.
Spring tutoring continues this week On Mondays and Wednesdays we are offering tutoring in Algebra 1 in Mr. Birrenkott’s classroom, Geometry in Dr. Bolejack’s classroom, and Biology in Mr. Truesdell’s room. Then on Tuesdays and Thursdays, we will offer 9th English in Ms. Schentrup’s classroom and 10th grade English in Ms. Shelley’s classroom. All of these tutoring sessions will be from 3:00 pm until 4:30 pm.
After School CROP Sessions will continue in Ms. Burkett’s classroom from 3:00 pm until 5:30 pm on designated CROP days through May 2nd. If you are planning to attend, please make sure to be on time and ready to work!
Students, do you need volunteer hours? The Newberry Elementary PTO needs your help with their Spring Carnival this Saturday (April 30th). You can sign up at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050b44a9af22a6ff2-nespto
Seniors, please check by often to the Counselor’s Corner on Canvas for new scholarship information. If you have any questions or need assistance, please come by and see Mrs. Cheggeh in the NHS Guidance Office.
COVID-19 Guidelines: The wearing of masks is optional on the NHS campus. Please continue to wash your hands, practice social distancing, and don’t share any items.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something (www.getfortifyfl.com). Success is best when it is shared BUT most importantly, “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
